Critical Deficit

Texas is ranked 49th in the nation for services provided for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD). Over 196,000 individuals are on waiting lists for community-based services.

Caregivers face immense pressure, leading to burnout, absenteeism, and emotional stress. The urgent need for emotional and spiritual support has never been more critical.

Our Purpose

The Texas Family Federation is a faith-based organization committed to sharing the Love of Jesus to families with 'Special Needs' members. We are dedicated to providing holistic care through mentoring, peer support groups,, Bible Studies, and partnerships.

Our mission is to bridge critical service gaps, empowering individuals with special needs and their families to live with dignity, purpose, and spiritual well-being.

Our Plan

Through partnerships, we build a support network for caregivers and empower other organizations to increase their services capacity.

We'll provide caregiver support including counseling and peer groups to fill gaps, empower caregivers, and promote positive views of special needs; agency training with tools for emotional and spiritual care, and capacity building programs for nonprofits.

Strategic programming will be aligned with government and community partners to provide comprehensive family support, conduct advocacy campaigns to improve policies and secure resources, and track key metrics to demonstrate impact.

Our pilot program is to be launched in Houston alongside a statewide awareness campaign to establish local support groups and mentoring.

Our Goal: Scalable Impact

Our vision is to significantly reduce waiting lists, enhance the quality of life for caregivers and individuals with special needs, and elevate Texas’s national ranking. Through holistic care addressing body, mind, and spirit, we aim to create a scalable model of support that extends beyond Texas to other states facing similar challenges.
